European Union and fight against trafficking in people
We participate at the project «No Trade!» as well
The Regina Pacis Foundation is a partner of the project Equal «No Trade», financed by European Union. (http://www.trattano.it/). This project foresees the promotion of innovative models of strategic information and education to legality, against trafficking in people aimed to sexual exploitation. The main objectives of intervention, which aims to have influence on territory in order to remove the halo of prejudice which wraps the women, victims of human trade and creates hindrances to efficient social and labor integration, are as follows:
* promotion of mature culture to approach the problem, based on correct understanding of the phenomena;
* offering some keys to read and instruments to understand the phenomena by territorial system’s actors (employment, education, welfare world) and by citizens in particular;
* to increase the value of the impact and application of Italian legislation in force (specially Law 228/03, art. 13-14; art. 18, D.lgsl 286/98).
The intervention strategy foresees the integration of diverse approaches through realization of:
1. preliminary mapping of informative models on national and European level
2. most complete and referenced (on institutional level) Italian portal on trafficking in people and a computerized network for circulation of informative contests on national, European and extra European level, and computerized support on Hot Line anti-trade of Ministry of Equal Opportunities
3. series of seminars aimed to awaken the territorial actors and circulation of informative models in Italian towns specially interested in the phenomena
4. a virtual community in order to animate and foster loyalty of territorial systems
5. a contest of ideas and models of auto-education regarding the phenomena
6. a specific informational campaign
7. arrangement with national mass-media of «a media map of No Trade» as a deontological code of good information on trafficking in people
8. cooperation and transferring of models on transnational level with projects Equal of Greece, Sweden and Latvia.
